The mission of Peninsula Services is to provide community employment opportunities and work training to adults with disabilities. This non-profit United Way funded agency was organized in 1971 by parents and concerned citizens for serving persons with disabilities. Certifications include Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), Source America (previously NISH), NIB, Ability One, the Washington State Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDA). We are governed by a not-paid group of volunteer professionals from our community that comprise our Board of Directors.
Some of our programs include:
All Shred-document destruction & WA state FREE ecycling center
The Gift Garden- retail store in downtown Bremerton
Servmart-2 supply stores serving military and government entities-one in Bremerton & one in Oak Harbor
Our Rehabilitation Dept finds jobs in the community for persons with disabilities
Some of our contracts include Grounds Maintenance for NBK and Shelf-Stocking/Janitorial for the Bremerton and Bangor Commissaries.
All of these projects together form a comprehensive job training experience for adults with disabilities.
