Job Description
Job Title          :   KPUD IT Admin
Reporting To   :   KPUD General Manager

Job Type          :   Full-Time
Salary             :   $66,220 - $99,329 DOE
Location          :   Poulsbo, WA  Monday – Friday, varying hours between 7:30 am – 5 pm


The Kitsap Public Utility District is looking for an IT professional that wants a chance to do it all.  We are a relatively small organization with diverse IT needs.  We need someone who can not only manage our Windows and Linux servers in a virtualized environment, but also help users with day to day needs.  Someone who is willing to help create an environment that balances cyber security with usability.  We need someone who wants to streamline data storage, but not sacrifice disaster recovery or business continuity.  We need a person who is comfortable having conversations about technical issues with technical and non-technical people.  A person that is well versed in common office applications, but also able to learn and support specialized software. Someone who is comfortable being part of a tight knit, “one utility team”, while also being comfortable as a one person department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain, configure hardware and software.
  2. Perform routine hardware, software and phone installs.
  3. Diagnose and resolve problems related to email, operating systems, printers, hardware, software and voice\data infrastructure support.
  4. Support specialty services; SCADA software, utility billing software, and facility security software
  5. Test and evaluate software and hardware.Research and recommend system-wide changes to address common issues that impact all county users based on that evaluation.
  6. The ability to implement and maintain a cyber-security program for the district.
     
Academic/Work Experience Qualifications and Skills:   
  1. < >Required: High school graduate and with three to four years of closely related work experience as an IT Admin
  2. Desired: College courses in and working knowledge of computer systems, mobile devices and other related products
  3. Desired: Associate’s Degree in IT, Computer Information Systems or relevant field
     
  4. Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  5. Strong customer service
  6. Ability to problem solve, diagnose and resolve technical issues
  7. Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  8. Strong reading and written/verbal/e-mail communications skills
