Job Description
Job Title          :   Seasonal Water Utility Laborer
Reporting To   :   OPS Superintendent
Department     :   Operations
Job Type          :   Full-Time
Salary             :   $14.50 per hour 1st year ($15.55 2nd year, $16.28 3rd year, $16.66 4th year)
Location          :   Poulsbo, WA  Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Kitsap PUD is seeking a highly motivated individuals to perform various maintenance tasks requiring the use of tools, equipment, and the operation of light automotive equipment for a seasonal position.


Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operates miscellaneous power tools in the maintenance of the water systems
  • Sets up and moves traffic safety signs
  • Uses a weed eater to remove and clear small trees and brush
  • Mows in uneven areas
  • Cleans and maintains equipment
  • Cleans and paints fire hydrants, blow-off valve markers and air/vacs
  • Performs 10% of work in the office/shop, 90% outside with driving involved
  • Walks approxiamately five hours, sits one hour, and stands two hours per day
  • Frequent bending, grasping, kneeling, pulling, pushing, reaching repetitive motions throughout the day
  • Lifts and carries objects weighing up to 15 pounds with occasional lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Other duties as assigned
 
 
 
Academic/Work Experience Qualifications and Skills:   
  1. Education
  • Required: 18 years of age.  High school graduate or GED equivalent with one year experience in ground maintenance or closely related work experience preferred
  • Required: Possession of a valid Washington State Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record
  • Preferred: Experience driving a truck while towing a utility trailer
  • Preferred: Flagging Certification
 
  1. Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team oriented environment
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
